This class is for the beginner in wheel-throwing and focuses on basic methods of centering clay and throwing simple forms such as cylinders and small bowls. Students will learn how to finish their pots including trimming and using standard decorating and glazing techniques.
In this class, students will refine the basic throwing and trimming techniques previously learned. Students will also be introduced to new techniques and challenged to complete projects such as throwing plates, sets and larger pieces.
At this level, students will concentrate on functional forms with an emphasis on individual skill building and developing a personal style. Students will be introduced to composite pieces, lidded vessels, and advanced decorating and glazing techniques.
